Simon Cowell thinks Niall Horan will be the next member of One Direction to go solo.

Speaking to The Sun, Syco boss Cowell said he expects Horan to follow suit, possibly in the coming weeks.

He said: "I like Niall a lot, have always got on with him, he is a great kid. I am confident he will sign with Syco.

"Look, business is business and it has got to be the right deal, but I am confident."

Horan revealed earlier this year that he had been in the studio working on music with songwriter Wayne Hector.
