Adele's new album is the best selling record in the US this year after just three days on sale.

Nielsen Music have revealed that the record has shifted at least 2.3 million units in the US in its first three days.

This means that it is already 2015's top selling album in the country.

It easily bypassed Taylor Swift's '1989', which has sold 1.76 million.

Adele's '21' was also the top selling record in the US in 2011 and 2012.

'25' meanwhile is expected to become the UK's fastest selling record ever.

It sold over 500,000 units in its first three days on sale in the country.
